No Pe-King
Risograph zine by Diana H. Chu.
“I want ‘outsiders’ like me to view [Hong Kong] and its people as a multi-faceted, salvation-worthy entity; despite what any censored or ‘imaginative’ media may suggest”. — Diana
No Pe-King (pronounced no ‘peeking’) chronicles a rough timeline that portrays Diana’s family history, identity, erasure, and what it means to be Chinese-American, all alongside China’s tightening totalitarian grip on Hong Kong — a place she partially calls home.
5.5in x 8.5in. Risograph printed in Bright Red and Black, 26 pages, wire stitched with a elastic band around the spine (reminiscent of Chinese banquet menus in Hong Kong). Produced at The Bindery and printed by bearbear, 2021.
